Battle continues for the Playoffs!

Al-ittihad in Playoff Contention After Hard Fought Win Against Shamar!

Al-ittihad kept their playoff dreams alive this week as they narrowly beat Shamar in Group 2 of the Abu Dhabi Football League (ADFL), to make it 4 wins in 4 games. A single goal from Majid Juma was enough to claim all 3 points against Shamar and move to within 5 points of the playoff positions. The ADFL, which is held at Zayed Sports City, is nearing the playoff stage of the competitions, with teams battling to secure a top for finish in order to progress to the next round.

Zayed Sports City, who have already made the playoff stages, showed no signs of complacency as they dismantled the Abu Dhabi Graduates defense on several occassions, eventually finishing in a 7-2 victory. Al Fuad came from behind twice to run out 4-3 winners against Victory, with the result meaning Victory have yet to book their place in the playoffs.

Over in Group 1, Yalla Eat Healthy did their best to remain in contention for the 4th place, although they need results to go their way in the coming final fixtures. They comfortably beat Money Makers 4-1 with goals from Andrei Anita, Youssef Oussifi and a brace from Waheed Abbas. Elsewhere in the group, leaders D&G easily saw off Sultan Arif Khoury with the game eventually finishing 4-2. Mohammad Jamel netted twice for D.Feras as they beat Al Hosn 4-2, meaning Al Hosn need nothing short of a miracle to finish in the top 4.
